LiftdT4R Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Ok, so I think I got this bad boy all together, but I was wondering 2 things. There is no specification on what to torque the nut to, I bought the wrenches that come with it, and all, I'm guessing it should be somewhere close to the stocker after you spin the inside nut back, but I was wondering what yall torque 'em to. Also, If I wanted to take the axle off the bike, how do you do that, with the c-clip installed on the sprocket side it looks like it would be a bitch and half to get it out from under the nut, and take the axle off the bike. As a;ways, thanks for the help, Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I just gave tightened with a wrench by hand & that was that. Never had a prob. There's also an allen head screw to secure it! With Brake Disc side assembled, feed it thru the carrier & assemble thru the sprocket side. The posi locknut will cover that c clip, back it up to expose it and pop it off with a screwdriver. Remove it the same way you put it in! Quote

As a;ways, thanks for the help, Durablue recommends 15 to 40 ft./lbs. on the large locking nut, I have a G-Force axle and used their torque specs. because G-force didn't give no specs. on the large nut. I torqued mine to 40 ft./lbs., just make sure on your torque wrench you take into account the extended length of the adaptor. Quote
ranshee Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 After I put my axle on I used the stock axle nuts, came loose after every two rides no matter how much I torqued them down. I bought the lone star axle nut And have not once had any probs. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 Thanks for the replies, got her all together last night. I can just see this thing being a bitch to get apart when I'm out on the trail and I break something. I'm not a big fan of those C-Clips. Quote
