patarol Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 (edited) Call Jeff at FAST........ he will give you damn good advice !!!, don't do cubs unless you are a drag racer (300 ft distances or 100 yds - whatever you want to call it) the cubs are not trail friendly unless you like aiming at trees and hitting them at 80 + mph...........most likely a "dune" / "play" port will satisfy your needs. Power wise your looking at doubling your stock power with a dune port, 4 mm stroker, V-Force 3 reeds, 33 mm PWK carbs and T-5 pipes........ think about it, 36 hp to a solid 75 hp ..........it will give you a "hard on" the size of the Eiffel Tower, and make the 4 strokers be envious, especially if you use the stock head (with custom dome cutting) and tell them you have a stock Banshee with only pipes, reeds and carbs.......... Yes sound like the way to go, but can i put the 4mil crank on the mods i have to day and gain more power without porting the cylinders? This is what i have to day: FMF Fatty power core2, VF-3, Prodesign coolhead, KN-Filter, Mikuni 28mm flatside carbs, 300main jets, Vitos power pistons, cleanup port, bored 65mm, 4 degre time key, Prodesign impeller, 22 domes. RZBansheeMan Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Yes sound like the way to go, but can i put the 4mil crank on the mods i have to day and gain more power without porting the cylinders?Physically,......Yes Optimally,.......No This is what i have to day: FMF Fatty power core2, VF-3, Prodesign coolhead, KN-Filter, Mikuni 28mm flatside carbs, 300main jets, Vitos power pistons, cleanup port, bored 65mm, 4 degre time key, Prodesign impeller, 22 domes. You will need 4 mm stroker porting to get your port timing to match your lower and higher stroke values, and to accomodate your new displacement's breathing needs. No if's, and's, or but's............... Get rid of the mikuni's, get some 33 PWK's or PWK air strykers, get some wiseco "795" pistons and a 4 mm long rod crank, also get stroker domes for the cool head. Get rid of the timing key, and get an adjustable timing plate (the offset keys have a higher shear factor) As for the FMF's, I'm not for sure about them. The T-5's are very well renound. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Why cant you send your cylinders of to get some porting?I dont know if its jeff at fast or jim at passion that built a motor for a guy overseas Quote
sredish Posted September 23, 2007 Report Posted September 23, 2007 Those Fatties work really well on a 4 mil motor. They're more all-around (bottom to top) pipe, where the T5s are a little more top end heavy. I personally like the T5s but this site is more geared towards dune and drag here lately and the preference runs to topend. Don't remember how / where you ride but choose the pipes based on your ride style and if you have the Fatties, I wouldn't be buying new pipes until you at least tried the ones you have on the built motor first. You can always buy them later and I'm betting you'll love the Fatties on the 4 mil. Quote
