HKIC Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 So the guy before me painted the jugs black. IDK what type of paint he used but they are starting to peel. I was wondering if it were possible to paint them with say a 1200* paint or so? and what should i use to strip them? thanks Quote

smokin 2 stroke Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 yeah high temp paint should work, sometime soon i will powder aoting my cylinder Quote
dawarriorman Posted September 15, 2007 Report Posted September 15, 2007 (edited) Ditto to the aircraft remover, just be careful with the stuff. Its caustic as hell. And you don't need all that high of a temp paint. The cylinders don't get THAT hot (they are full of water after all). I painted mine with duplicolor metalcast (500 degree paint, oil and gas resistant), and they still look great after more than a year. Edited September 15, 2007 by dawarriorman Quote
Dinner Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 When I had my shee torn all apart for an overhaul I cleaned up my cylinders and painted them with just High Heat paint used for headers, stuff like that. I can't remember the amount of degrees the paint was good for, but its been a couple of years and they are still holding up. Quote
