Dgrey Posted August 20, 2007 Author Report Posted August 20, 2007 I noticed you said you put in a timing plate.. You might want to double check your pickup coil gap. I have no idea what you mean by this. Please advise! Quote
hyperlite33 Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Pick up gap is between the pickup coil and the "nub" of the flywheel. It should be in the .020-.030 range. Quote

Okay I read something on that and I can use a matchbook to judge that amount of room? The front cover from a matchbook? AND FYI my head lights and break lights and stuff work awesome when the bike is on with the 200 watt rickey stator if that makes any difference. I guess its different when its actually under load and im driving the bike down the street. That is when it starts to run sh*ty when I hit the power band. Quote
hyperlite33 Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Yes I have heard that a matchbook cover will work for the pick up coil if your don't have feeler guages. Quote
pendletonpounder Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 my bike did the same thing after i installed the TORS elimination kit(would idle but would not rev out) what i ended up having to do is connecting the two wires going into the throttle then it ran fine. might not be the right way to fix problem but it worked for me.
