stock swingarm?? if so there is a correct process to adjusting the chain tightness and making sure you get everything tightened back down properly. heres what you do, starting from everything being loose to adjust your chain..

1. tighten or loose the adjusters to desired chain tightness..then use the lock nut to keep them where you want them.

2. tighten the bottom carrier bolt down.

3. then tighten the upper carrier bolt.

4. then recheck your adjusters to make sure they didnt come loose during the other steps.

if they are coming loose when you ride then something else is wrong. your chain is going to want to naturally pull the carrier towards the front which will keep pressure on those adjusters..

I've tightened mine correctly and they've still come loose on me.....But then again I've beat the ever living piss out of that back end. Every time I adjust my chain I end up putting loctite on them and they stay.

Not saying that yours may need it, or what terrain you run, but if you beat on anything hard enough, its bound to come loose.

yea ill also add that stock swingarms are junk. plain and simple. they are super heavy and those tabs that hold the carrier will bend with not much pressure. a hard hit on one tire will cause it easily..id recommend a roundhouse carrier swingarm..they are much more durable, lighter weight and a ton easier to adjust.

Are you sure its coming loose? Might be stretchin the chain?

nah, they've completely come loose. I was coming back on the road at hatfield mccoy and the back end felt loose. I got off and looked and the adjusters were down, and the carrier would just slide back and forth every time I got on the gas.

Pulled it out some and tightened it back up to get me back to camp. But the whole way back was thinking if those bolts came out, it wouldnt be fun.

Only reason it all stayed together is because I had a prestretched new chain and didnt have the carrier adjusted out very far.

I'm planning on upgrading to a roundhouse sooner than later....my swinger cant take much more abuse
