Bajnok Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 I live in a very wooded a traily area. I plan on going to Winchester bay once in a while and I was wondering does it matter if I get pipes and and other mods if im going to be on trails more than at the dunes? Quote
Bill Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 well you can get pipes and different mods for you type of riding, and it matters if you want to go faster. Quote

Snopczynski Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 You can set up a trail bike to rip on the dirt and be fun at the dunes as well. Quote
Bajnok Posted July 20, 2007 Author Report Posted July 20, 2007 OK cool. Where on this site would I go to find out that setup and where in WA state could I find a place other than a dealership that sells aftermarket parts. Quote

A good all around pipe is FMF, I personally like LRD Fully Adjustable pipes (only pipes ive ever had except Shearers), they are not made anymore but you can post up a wanted thread in the wanted section - im sure theres a few people on here that have some lying around. They are fully adjustable from low end to high end, pretty neat pipe. Eric Quote

You can always get a port job that will give you more power everywhere, there are a few builders that do "all around" ports. Your not going to win any GNCCs on it, but it's a friggen thrill to ride anywhere, you can definately build a bike thats going to be good in the dunes and trails. Quote
Bajnok Posted July 21, 2007 Author Report Posted July 21, 2007 I dont know if im just being a retard but when I look for pipes, I look at the toomey t5 and t6 and most parts i look at are from 98'-'05 i have a '06 do you think that matters? Quote
kajones Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 would dmc916 pipes work for trails and dunes? i know they are more trail but they look sexy... Quote
Bill Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Yea those pipes would work on A 06 banshee for sure.If you dont want to fork out what there asking for new pipes, check out ebay for some used ones or on here.Changing out the filter would be A good idea also, and with any mod you do you must rejet the carbs. As far as engine goes, all years are the same, with the exception of very minor changes and the style of electrical connectors. If you have a set of or any in frame pipe, it will work with all years. Some pipes require removing the airbox, and other minor mods, but you would have to do that on all years too. Definately remember about the rejet too, you see a lot of questions about rejetting on here, and if you search around youll probably find someone with the exact same setup. EDIT: I've only ridden dunes once, but when I was out there I had FMFs, and I wasn't going to race anyone with a drag bike, but I had a lot of fun, you'll see alot of guys on here running a trail style ipe like FMF at the dunes, you could definately get away with the DMCs, your not going to have a shit ton of top end, but I had plenty of fun on my FMFs, and pretty much anything beats the stockers. letsgetthisdone Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 T5's are a kickass allaround pipe...they make a lil more power than FMF's and they a look better IMO Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 I saw some amazing things happen with my 2 into 1 pipe this last weekend. There was 2 Banshees that sat around in the camping area at Sand Dunes Frontier down at Florence where we were staying. Once the rain let up, they came out to the drag hill (lowered a little, with cpi pipes and all chrome with customn paint) and I beat one of them 2 out of 3 races, the other guy tied me 2 times and beat me once. I got some serious jetting time in on the flats and started to get a good handle on the needle setup in the 2 into 1 carb and the bike is even faster now than it has been all summer. I still have one other needle I want to order and try. The bike is having no issues at all pulling 6th gear on the flats now though. Quote
