twinrock Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 i was thinking today..i plan to run a 4mm or 7mm stroker crank..now im aware that the domes will need to be cut to match..which leave the problem of port timing..which the ports will have to be cut down to now match the lower piston height at bdc...can u just skim the bottom of the cylinder?? surely this would have the same effect..so for a 4mm stroker crank skim 2mm of the barrel and 4mm off the head??? or am i way off? RZBansheeMan Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 You are off. The port timings need to be opened top and bottom for any stroker. The cylinders should be sent to a professional for this because they should also be ported for the added displacement of the stroker. The 4mil doesn't require case trenching or a spacer plate, only porting, long rod stroker crank, "795" pistons, stroker domes. The 7mil requires case trenching, cylinder spacer plate, crank, porting, I think "795" pistons also. Quote

You really need to look at port timing when attempting stuff like this. Yes, we do base side facing of cylinders and it is not that easy. ALso, the banshee piston will not pop out of the hole 4mm without problems. We have worked some precision magic on certain setups but you need to know how to adjust that engine or you are just spinning your wheels--or not. Brandon Quote
