elwilliams13 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 I was wondering what is the black debris in my coolant? I have all stock banshee 2006 and am using engine ice. Went to drain system because my top end is getting redone due to low compression. Any help is appreciated. Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 its just crap from inside your radiator and maybe inside the clutch cover..dont worry about it. Quote
dave95.1 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 IF you still have the stock impeller it could be pieces of that coming apart. I'd replace the stock one while you have it apart whether it looks ok or not. Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Its the small film covering off your steel headgasket. Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Get a billet impeller as well.......... Bam search on ebay that's where i got mine. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...p;rd=1&rd=1 Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 You'll see that black stuff missing from the stock head gasket when you pull that head. It just peels off the copper, no biggie! You can flush it all out by disconeting the radiotor hose from the head leading to top of radiator. Dump the hose thru the top of rad & out it comes! Quote
elwilliams13 Posted July 4, 2007 Author Report Posted July 4, 2007 Yeah, saw where it came from as soon as the head came off. Got it all cleaned up and honed just waiting on the parts. Thanks for all your help. Quote
