ok well my shee was having problems running the other day it would rev fine but under load it sputtered and ran like crap. Long story short I bought a new 200wt RS stator and flywheel and put it on it ran up the road great but when i shut it of and tried to start it again it wouldnt start just kinda sputtered and would back fire some times. A few times it would start if I gave it gas and kept on the gas but once I let off it died. Well after messing around with the pick up coil I kicked it and it fired right up. Noticing the lights were on I turned them off and noticed the idle picked up slightly. Wierd never noticed that. I turned the switch to the off position and there was a hesitation before finally dieing. i thought that was odd so started it again and hit the off switch and this time it did not stop. whats Up.

Check your wires to the kill switch, especially since you replaced the stator, they may have touch the side of the flywheel and grounded out, or your ground may have come undone

not sure how my kill switch wires could have touched the flywheel. But it hasnt even been rode since the new stator was put on other then a quick zip up the street.

I would worry about the sputter more than the kill switch hesitation. My bike didn't shut off at all the other day when I flipped off the switch, then shut off after flipping it on then back off again. My motor guy said Its somewhat normal due to something, but I cant remeber why.

So basically this sputter is still there after putting on the new flyhweel and stator?

the last time i had trouble like this, the kill switch itself just needed a good cleaning. take it apart and clean the contacts and see if that helps any.

I guess it depends on if you are talking a tehther kill. We run ours inside the case cover so that the connections are out of the weather.

no still woried about the sputtering. The first time I took it out it ran great for about ten minutes then started sputtering. I adjusted the pick up coil then it ran good the rest of the day. The next day I took it out it didnt have the hard hit and did the sputter thing for pretty much the whole day. Never seemed to do this on my road. Tried messing with the pick up again at home and broke the timing plate. I got a good deal on a new flywheel and 200w stator due to an old link I found on the net. So I just installed them thinking this may have been the problem. This brings up to where were at now. I dont know if the switch is the reason it wouldnt start, some time start and run well up the street, and the few times it would only start with throttle pressed, sputter and back fire was due to a bad switch I dont know. Seemed like every twenty minutes I would try to start it in my garage it would do someting differen.

Hey man, any good tips on this. I have the exact same thing going on right now. I think its possibly the ground wire, but have no idea where to look. Probably gonna have to get someone who knows electical to look at it. But if you found anything out let me know.
