BAMA07 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 ive been having my eye on no2 since i got my bike always wanted to put it on my truck but didnt wanna have to pay the price for a new motor. Whats the best system out there ive searched for a few boondockers is looking good to me so far. I was also wondering how it affects ur everyday riding with noss and are all the systems made for race gas only?! my mods on my 06 banshee is toomey t-6,boyesen rad valves, reed spacers, boostbottle,k+n xstreampowerlid/filter,jets. tell me what u think if i need more motor work before i get noss or what im not gonna be all out drag racing would be nice to have some surprises for the 4strokes though when i run across them out riding and they start rambling on. tell me what u think before i buy some and regret it thx Quote
dajogejr Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Yeah, you'll need more mods. Not too many guys on here running NOS. How much are you looking to spray? I think you should get better pipes, porting, and a programmable ignition for use with NOS is a good idea... Probably bigger carbs, better fuel delivery system...etc. You're a ways off from putting that bike on NOS. However...if you just wanted a quick spray...say 10HP or so...well, probably do able... 5150banshee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 i ran it on my bike and i liked the power it gave me but i did not like the major wear and tear it put on my motor.i had a fogger system so we had to tap it into the carbs,i dont think you have enough done to the motor and you are going to definetly need bigger carbs i was using 35's and have quit a bit done to the motor. strokerace Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 just put a 4mil with cheetah or cub cyl and v force reeds and carbs and youll hand 4 pokes their ass all day long and still be 100%reliable and from that point if you still want the noss then get it Quote
yfzdunejumper Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 You can do it with your setup but you are leaving a lot on the table. First you should get a dyna so when you spray you can retard your timing when the button is pressed. then you can run around advanced when off the bottle. They say a good rule of thumb with nos is never spary more than %50 of you motors HP to stay safe. I think you really want to stay safe so stay under that. I would guess you at 40 hp so 10-15 shoot would be ok. The dry systems (boondockers) are pretty simple to tune but the wet systems (NOS, Cold Fusion, NX, ECT.) give more power and might be a little safer if tuned right. I would get a new carb though. But then you will want a swinger to keep the front down then next you will feel slipping in your clutch and want a lockout, of course then your bottole will be empty when you want it so you will get a stocker crank to alway have power, then your buddy will beat you with out nos and you will be like I need a cub. Then you will need a new swinger and you will decide to lighten your frame. well you get the point it would be cheaper to loss the race...... Quote
