I have a set of trexs that need to be resleeved, have powervalves fixed, and need studs for head but I found a set of polished A&S drag ported stockers with pistons and head for $500. The guy said they ran a best of 4.2 with a 178 lbs guy with a stock crank. If I buy them I would put in a 4mil. Do you guys think I should just buy these and forget about putting money into those trexs or ? Thanks in advance

Since the cylinders were set up to run on a stock stroke crank, I would call Dan @ A&S and see what he thinks about running a 4mil with them cylinders and how to set it up if its possible.

Yea thats a good point. I will have to give him a call tommrrow. I know 4.2 is not shabby but I want to go a little faster lol

Was that 4.2 on gas or alky? If it was on gas.. you should beable to break into the 3's with alky.

I assume you are talking about Mr ETs cylinders..... Buddys bike rans real hard, the cylinders are what he says they are. If you want to sell the trex cylinders give me a shout. I may be interested for a project I got going.

I'm not trying to be negative but you'll need a lot more than just cylinders to hit 4.2's! I'm sure they're capable, but you also have to set the whole package up right, meaning with the right parts to compliment the cylinders. Just something else to think of...

If you're wanting to go faster than 4.2's, then prepare to spend a good chunk of change, trust me.

How much do you weigh, wallace?

Shayne, Im not sure if that time was on gas or alky. I will have to ask him now. Yes, they are Mr ETs cylinders. I actually posted them in the for sale section to see what would happen. I will let you know. Thanks

If I had to guess his weight I would say 140-150 tops

Wow, what I would give to weigh that little, lol...half my work would be cut out for me

Yeah, no kidding Travis.... I think we'd both be singing in the 3's...he he...

Send jankab or cubshee on PS a PM...he's got a couple motors he's ready to get sell that will drop in.

As said though, be prepared to lighten a chassis, drag axle, longer swinger or wheelie bar...etc.

140HP in a chassis that doesn't get that power to the ground isn't worth squat...LOL.

Oh I know I have to do alot more then just bolt the cylinders on. I just wanted to start at the motor then go from there. I going to have to get a lock out ,override, etc. I weigh 167. I know it doesnt look like it (for those who know me personally)but I do haha

Dan...what kind of frame and suspension components are you running right now....

To below 4.2...you'll need light weight drag parts, all around. Shocks, arms, front end, drag axle...etc.

Even at your weight....

id skip all of the above and buy some cubs.. in the long run its gonna be a lot more cost effective and youll be a lot happier.. plus the power will be there, even without porting.
