strokerace Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 just finished my shee (finally)does the override tranny take any special oil or just use the same as always bel-ray gear saver what does everyonelse use Quote
bigboybanshee Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I use 2 full quarts of bel ray 85 weight gear oil. Several people run ATF type F, and I know a couple folks that run Flexdrive, made by klotz. Quote
dajogejr Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 My tranny was cut by Whitaker....or WCR racing. They do a TON of overrides... They recommend ATF +F and change it often... If you're gonna go override, you'll want a lockup too. And in that case, it's 2 quarts... Quote
shanYE west Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 I use honda trans oil 80/85 with my overide. I would use the gear saver but I'm a cheap ass and the Honda oil is half the price. Maxima MTL is also good stuff. Several people run the ATF type F like bigboybanshee said. Pretty much what ever transmission oil you prefer, nothin special. Quote
kb7kuh Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 I use Bel Ray. Seems to do the job, and I change it every race. Prob. don't need to but what the heck. Quote
