elwilliams13
I was wondering how much jetting will be affected with a pro design K&N kit on a total stock machine no mods what so ever. Stock filter was damaged. I cannot close the lid with this new set up so I will run it with the lid off. 32 to 1 with 91 octane. I was under the impression that if the pipes and cylinder cannot move more air then the filter would not make a diffrence unless the velocity moving through the venturi makes hard for fuel to keep up. Also since I did this modification it is kind of flat just past idle adjusted air screw in a bit and gets better and is not as snappy as with stock filter. I would appreciate a starting point if possible and I can work from there. I ride in florida so sea level and HIGH humidity. Thank you. Michael Jackson
you can run a lid with that.. i have the same thing and i used to run a lid, u just have to cut a couple little plastic tabs out of the box so itll fit down in there better.. stock the banshee comes with 220's at sea level, theres really no point on you runnin it with the lid off since u dont even have pipes, put your lid back on, get some of those little airbox vents, drill 6 1" holes on your lid and throw in some 240 main's, that is the exact setup i had for a while.. it ran great, also u have to take temperature into consideration, you live in FL, so its gona be hot all the time, which means the air is thinner, hot air less dense, cold air more dense...i guess the good thing about florida is u dont have winter so u wont have to rejet if ur doing winter riding.. try some 240 mains and if its runnin rich drill a few more holes on ur lid or jet down, either or, its up to u.... also if you are running good quality synthetic premix u dont need to run 32;1... run it at 40:
Wagonz
i have a k&n with the back bit of the lid cut off, and i have 270mains at sea level and it runs awesome for stock
Master of Faster
You leaned it out by taking the airbox lid off and thats why its not running as well. You need to either jet up a couple sizes or put that airbox lid back on and it will run better again.

XxMeltIcexX
Also, make sure you didnt oil the K&N too much (if it wasnt oiled from the factory that is), common problems with alot of filters being too oiled up, doesnt want to run that good - especially idle. Also, on the premix, you dont need any mods to run a different premix, everyone had their preference, if its free take it, just keep in mind it MAY change your stance on jetting (lean it up or richen it up).
