Snopczynski Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Theres a brass fitting in the cap, just put the cable through it. Quote
pennywise007 Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 Theres a brass fitting in the cap, just put the cable through it. but the end of the cable (the ball that attaches to the slide in the carb) is to big to fit through that fitting though. Quote
pennywise007 Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 does anybody have instruction that come with the T.O.R.S. removal kit. what does it say? Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 sounds to me like you may have recieved the wrong throttle cable. the end's of your throttle cable should be about 3/16 inch round flat on the top and bottom lead slug's fixed to the end of your cable and should easily pass through the holes in the brass adjusters that thread into your new carb tops. i wanna say that kehin cables have even smaller ends so i couldnt even begin to guess what cable you have... if i remember tomarrow i will take a few pics down at the shop...if you havent figured it out yet that is... BellicoseBanshee Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 This is not a very good picture, but if you look carefully, you will see how small the carb ends are (as stated above). The ends should slide through the adjuster fittings and the carb caps. Throttle Cable Picture The stock cable has carb ends similar in size to the throttle housing end. Maybe you recieved a stock replacement cable instead of a non-TORS cable. The TORS system has two cables, the cable from the throttle housing to the top of each TORS switch housing, and then a small cable from the bottom of each switch housing to the slide, which has the small end also (OK, technically three cables, the throttle cable and two slide cables). :geek: Quote

Yes, they are very big, much like the size of a pencil eraser. If I ever want to install dual calipers on the front of my mountain bike, I suppose my stock cable will work just fine for that! Quote
