Cyan Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Hey guys just thoguth i'd get all your opinions on which is the best gear material? and also best chain? i'm looking at getting a DID Gold x-ring with steel front and rear sprokets? yes, no. Good, or wood thanks in advance Sean Quote
letsgetthisdone Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 Steel front and rear is a must. Just make sure you get good steel sprockets. Like JT's or RK's, sidewinder is the best, but they are very expensive. I wore my primary drive chain and sprocket set out in less than 30 hours...so definetly stay away from them. Quote
wheatez Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 i use any steel front sprockets i have around and i use sidewinder tri moly in the rear. they say that the tri moly is twice as strong as the steel but weighs 35% less than the steel spocket, but u also pay a premium for it. Quote
racer Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 I run steel primary drives because I'm cheap. Quote
