How much water are talking about? Outerwears help repel water somewhat but wouldn't help if you're hitting pulled WOT. If it was just a bit it should of just sucked thru and the fuel would help it flush out. Are you sure you're not running too rich causing excess smoke?

i dont think it was a lot of water but more than i should of my jetting is really been good but i did mix the gas a little more than normal 40:1 but i dont think it would matter much and also i do have outerwares so i think that helped.

doesnt water screw up bearings pretty quick? i also had a bad spill were it was upside down still running for about 30 sec. if that would make a difference. thanks.

on my last motor i blew an o ring so it kinda makes me nervous seeing anything im not used to.

The milky shit is your crank case oil.. Apparently you have taken in quite a bit for the oil to get up in there.. If it's getting to the back of the carb i bet it's going down the exhaust port and that could be your extra smoke.. I would drain the oil, stand the bike up on the grab bar and see if any fluid comes out the pipes, then refill the oil to the proper level.. After you change the oil check it in a few days to make sure the milk has left :D..

If you really worried do a search on engine flush

Definatly change your oil and get it all out. Rite underneath your bike (If you have skidplates there will probably be a hole that lets you get the socket in there) is a 18mm (Could be wrong) Bolt that gets all of your trans/clutch oil out of your crankcase. Refill to specs 1.5 1.6 dont go over and check it often for more milky shit. Oh almost forgot USE AN AIRBOX IN THE WOODS!!!!

and dumping the bike means nothing but fluids running causing excess smoke. No big deal dont worry they are built for that.

Yeah man, and if your running through water put that damn lid on too. Its not worth the minimal gain without the lid and outerwares just dont cut it airbox or no in the woods. You come up so fast on those puddles next thing you know your tearing your whole motor apart. I got 12 1" filters cut holes in my lid and placed them in there for better flow and it definatly keeps the water out. Plus them filters are very cheap.

and i forgot to add that there was kinda a milky oilly shit in the back of my carbs near the pods when i took them off at home.

yes, when oil and water mix it will cause the milky oily substance you're talking about. most likely it's from your filter oil, or possibly the oil from your pre-mix when the bike was jostled around, fuel was sloshed around as well. did you let the filters dry out? if not you'll pull water moisture from the filters into the engine. what you need to do is service your filters like normal (making sure that they are free of water), and drain the carbs in order make sure no water got in the bowls. if it starts up and runs fine, other than the excessive smoke. run it for a while in order to get out any moisture that may have gotten into the engine.

didn't you say that you mixed more oil than normal? if so then you may see more smoke from that.

thanks for the replies guys. i cleaned my filters and reoiled them when i got home right away. i did mix the oil a little more than normal. i started it and let it run for awile when i got home figuring that it would burn the water off and when i started it today it seems fine i just worrie about shit like this. thanks again for the help guys. :thanks:
