okbeast Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I got a hella good job this summer so the banshee's gonna get a little overhaul. For starters I'm gonna hit the motor: Possibly a 4mil stroke, 5mil longrod, with a dune/play/drag port (not sure who to go with here, leaning towards FAST, passion, A&S, just want someone good that has a decent turnaround time, ya I know that's hard to find but I can wish) I don't want a full-out drag motor. I'm plannin on a +4 swinger I think, so hopefully I'll be able to keep this down but still have fun ridin it around at my buddies house. Do you think it's worth it for me to do the 4mil? I've got a buddy sellin one that's already trued/welded for, oh $350 maybe or cheaper. Mine is going to need to be trued and welded anyways. But would the crank really make that much difference? I plan on running stock carbs for awhile, my T-5 pipes, stock reeds, etc. I will eventually do all the upgrades but this is what I'm thinking for now. Let me know what ya'll think. Quote
bansheeyfz Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 why dont you just get it ported with carbs, reeds and aftermarket head. then get a nice suspension Quote
casper Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Your shee should rip after you get those mods done. I would say that FAST is the best place to get your motor work done at, my buddy SoCalinIt has a 4mil that FAST cleaned up and it is well....Fast. Good luck though, I priced out a 4mil cub and everything I would need and showed the breakdown to my wife.............Lucky man. Give us some pics when you get the project going. Quote
okbeast Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 I'll probably have the carbs and reeds by the end of the summer but the paychecks only come every 2 weeks, and I'm also going to be PC'ing everything sometime this summer as well. Quote
theshee Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 What ever you end up doing to it, you will like it. Modding banshees in addicting! Quote

Let me know what ya'll think. personally, i would do the 4mil stroker. especially if you can get a good deal on a good crank. plus, it sounds like you're going to split the cases anyways. so you may as well do it. it sounds like you have a good plan in place. get the core of the engine done the way you want then add on the better peripherals when you can afford them. Animalman294 Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 Ya, I think I would jump on that if I were you too. $350 sounds like a good deal to me................ Quote
okbeast Posted May 23, 2007 Author Report Posted May 23, 2007 I'll need the 795 series pistons for this correct? And also have to have the head cut or get some 4mil stroker domes right. Quote
