thelmuffinman Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Funally got my shee. It's got Stainlees steel procircuit pipes and silencer, jet kit, boyseen power reeds, reed spacer, boost bottle, aftermarket cdi box, sprockets, K&N pod filters, extra adjustable stator with timing advance, twist throtle, and performance clutch. It also has a TORS eliminator kit. My questions: How do you adjust the idle on this thing, it won't idle for the life of me. Second, I can only get it started by pushing it a little then dropping it into 1st. No matter how much I kick it won't start. So aside from those two things, I fuckin love my new shee! Help me out if you can. Thanks. Quote
thelmuffinman Posted May 20, 2007 Author Report Posted May 20, 2007 and I was told to run it at a 20:1 ratio. Judging on the recent thread bashing the fag who made the write-up about oil in the General section, 20:1 isn't right. What all does the ratio depend on? Quote
LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 You have to file down the carb were the idle screws go in since they cant reach all the way in to hit the slides w/o fileing. a good mix ratio is 32:1 to 40:1. Quote

theshee Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Dont run a 20:1 ratio. I could see doing that like on a break in or something, but 36:1-40:1 is pretty good. Yeah you have to install idle screws after the TORS go off... Quote
thelmuffinman Posted May 20, 2007 Author Report Posted May 20, 2007 Any other reason other meaning breaking in that someone would run 20:1 Quote
LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 wait you didnt install the idle screws???? holy shit man.... your gonna have to pull your carbs off and drill and tap the carbs..... the TORS had idle screws on the top of them when you pulled the TORS off you lost the idle thats why it came with idle screws.... did you get a drill bit and tap? if not here is a link to what you need http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/...=372&page=1 this includes everything you need to install the idle screws.... the reason it doesnt idle is because the slides it the bottom and there completely closed chokeing the motor and kills it. The idle screw enters the carb body and hits a little ramp that is on the slide so when it hits the ramp it keeps the slide from closing thus cutting the motor off. I bet that motor is getting loaded with fuel when you back off the throttle and bogs like hell.... hope this helps Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 since you have a tough time starting it I will take it off your hands and I wont charge you... J/K It sounds like you have some gummed up pilot jets. Possibly from running 20:1. You should have a larger brass screw on the side of each carb. this is for the idle adj. http://www.vitosperformance.com/atv_parts/...=372&page=1 you can see the one on my carb in the pic below. thelmuffinman Posted May 20, 2007 Author Report Posted May 20, 2007 NO! Read the post. I bought a Banshee and TORS kit is already installed. I don't know if the guy who installed the TORS kit put on the idle screws or not. Quote

Thanks! http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=78770 post #3 large brass screw in the middle with locknut is Idle screw. turning it in will increase idle. also if the slides are in backwards, they wont work.
