a friend has a banshee that his kids put gas in with no oil in it. now he says it starts but makes a knocking sound. not really sure where its coming from. i mght buy it if it doesnt cost to much to fix it. if its just new pistons and rings i'll do it myself. if its new crank and rods ill probably wont do it myself. Has anyone ever had or heard of this before. i'm sure its been done a few times before with other people on this site. thanks for the help..

like bigboy said the cylenders are definetly toast, and the brank might be also but you can never tell untill u yank it apart,if u want a stock crank i have one just let me know we can work something out.good luck with the bike.

The knocking sound is normally a bearing failure. In my opinion it will need a crank, cylinders bored and new pistons and rings. If it is a good price and you dont mind working on it and tossing a few dollars at it than I would get it. I split my case 2 weeks ago and installed a new crank and it was no problem.

he wants $1800.00 for the way it is now. and i think he wants that plus what ever the dealer is going to charge him. i think thats to much. i see them on ebay all the time for $2500.00 or less. the only thing done to it is fmf pipes, k&n filters and jetted. well see what happens when it comes from the dealer. thanks

If he's gonna pay the dealer to fix it and is adding that cost to the 1800, start looking elsewhere. They are going to rape him with no lube on labor for that...plus parts.

You oughtta tell him to get an estimate from the dealer on how much it'll cost to fix it, then offer him a 1,000 bucks as it sits now. You could do the repairs yourself for probably 3-400 bucks. Just a thought

i've seen pistons and rings for around $150.00 on ebay. how much for the crank and rods. would like to keep it closer to stock than anything. I've got a 700 raptor that i would rather put the money into but wouldnt mind having a banshee to play around with. thanks
