I had the engine out of my Banshee because the case was broken. I got the case welded so thats all taken care of. While the case was spit I installed a 4mm stroker crank and also added a Trinity Stage IV head. So I got the engine back together today and installed and decided to take it for a ride. I go around the block and pull back into my driveway and notice a nice trail of smoke behind me. So now I have to determine if the case didn't seal or if I blew the crank seal out. This sucks!!!

ummm, two strokes tend to smoke, especiallly when cold and/or running rich. And if you put in extra premix for break-in that could be why. Do a leak down test, that'll tell you whether or not you have a problem.

the left side is barely smoking and the right side is puffing bad. I am going to test all of it tomorrow.

the left side if your looking at the back of your shee?

is your choke on?

Excitement got the best of me so no preliminary checks. I am hoping it is just the seal (even though it is brand new). It would suck to have to crack the case again just to reseal it.

I always refer sides as I sit on the bike (something I picked up from working on cars) clutch side is right side and stator side is left side.

I'll take a pic of the smoke in a little bit.

Yah I know all about that. I am going to see if I can cheat. I don't really want to split the case again.

I really dont think you can get that seal in without splitting them. That would be cool as heck if you could though, let us know how it goes.

The reeds are a few months old so I never thought about that. It is white smoke but the plug shows no sign of coolant. and it is only the right side so that led me to believe that it might be a crank seal. I will rip the reeds out tomorrow and check them out.

Thanks.
