Animalman294 Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 When I went to Sand Mountain recently I met these two guys that had these computer things on their Shee's that were pretty cool. I think they called them Tech-something or something-tech, and they were red and yellow on the front. They showed engine temp, and exhaust temp and a few other things, but I was really interested in the Pyrometer sensor. Does anyone use one of these, or know where I can get more info on the manufacturer so I can get more info? Thanks for the input................ Quote
STLBILL Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Try this: http://www.dunesport.net/index.asp?PageAct...&ProdID=625 Or this: https://www.primos-usa.com/displayProductDo...mp;categoryId=5 I think that's it. Let me know if I need to look for something else. Quote
dynodon Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 (edited) Try , Digitron EGT....this is a different type, but does the same things. These are a good tuning device If your running on the asphalt where you have enough time to down load your previous pass to a laptop. Those will tell you the temp of each cylinder, the power curve, which will help tune each cylinder Edited May 11, 2007 by dynodon Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 No, those aren't them. If it jogs anyones memory these things were like $300-$400 dollars and they did all kinds of crap. They were both runnin' cubs and one was on alcohol and the other was on race fuel. They told me that they helped to tune the bike, and to protect the engine, because when they were on a long run and the EGT got to like 1300-1400 degrees they knew they needed to back off the motor or burn holes in stuff. They ran this with a dial a jet and they were able to dial in the jetting really precisely and not have to rely so much on the plugs. I know exactly what the thing looked like, and I'll know it when I see it. Thanks for all the reply's so far............. Quote

Animalman294 Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 Yeah, I really want the EGT sensor and I don't see where that one offers the choice. Everything else is cool on it, but I want the EGT because its the most accurate cylender temp reading. Quote
felcon edition banshee Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 that looks kinda cool i like the temp meter espesaly here in this place where it gets up to 60 degrees celcius (dont ride in that heat lol) Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 I looked all over the other night and there are a few company's that make EGT sensors and there was one that was a dual set-up. I was unable to find any computers that had EGT, spedo, RPM and such. Quote
