XxMeltIcexX Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 well, ill keep you updated on new comp test and leakdown test... tommorow. Comp test for sure, hopefully both... Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 Ok, did a compression test, still 120 psi in both cylinders (AHHHH! WHATS GOING ON!!!???) - just venting... and the good news is: My crankcase holds pressure  6 psi - and still holding  Whats the deal with my compression? i have new pistons and a new noss head! Thanks, Eric  Quote
jbooker82 Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 something is goofy cause every pj i played with it took at least 8-9 full turns out to get it to idle. Word. My banshee would barly ideal at 7 turns out. I think I ruan in in the 8.5 turns out range. Quote
wesw Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 where did you get the domes from?? how thick of base gasket are you running?? Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 where did you get the domes from?? how thick of base gasket are you running?? used this kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWDVW minus the head gasket and its a noss head 18cc domes Quote
wesw Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 like david said check your squish. seen some domes have really fucked up squish. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted May 13, 2007 Author Report Posted May 13, 2007 Still no squish test, but some more interesting information: Thinking that i'm having pressure coming through my reeds (VFORCE3'S), I pull off my reeds completely and i get 140 psi in each cylinder instead of 120 with them on... petals are not too tense on the cage, but they are brand new reeds (not even 2 hours on them). I put on the stockers, still 140 psi... Very weird... friend was telling me maybe rings have not set, so i poured about a teaspoon on motor oil in the cylinder and kicked it over a few times to let the oil get on the rings, did a comp test, only brought it up like 2-3 psi.. also, another interesting idea, the gauge isnt that expensive, just a 25 dollar checker compression gauge (yayaya dont tell me), the hose leading up to the gauge itself is probably around another 2 cc's - so i thought why not add that to my 18cc domes Sea Level 1000' 2000' 3000' 4000' 5000' 18cc 197 178 171 170 165 145 19cc 183 167 160 158 152 137 20cc 169 156 149 146 140 129 21cc 156 145 138 134 128 121 stock 130 125 118 112 106 100 Like this table says 18cc + 2 cc = 20 cc = 146 psi for 3000 ft (i'm at 3500 ft - so about 140 psi[what i'm reading]) but if the idea is plausable my comp should be around 165-170.. What are your thoughts on that???? Eric Quote
