Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 hey there guys! i was bored and was reading tons of posts on here and got my addiction going so i had to go and look for some stuff that i could customize to my shee. i came up with the solution that since i have my bars and everything off (getting new blue bars) i might as well try to do something custom to my iginition, seemed easy enough.... so i decided to move it to the left side of my tank plastics, on the top, right next to the gas tank plastic mount screw, and right next to the gas cap.. well it was pretty easy, just some practice and some movement of the mount hole and it came out beautifully. was just wondering if anyone has done it in this same place and if anyone was wonderng where to mount theres then this could be a nice spot to do it.. just make sure to keep it down and to the front of the machine, the hole that is, to keep it looking and working the best... thanks guys! Bansh-eman Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 ny reason you didnt bypass it completly? Quote
Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 idk man, i saw that it was only a red and black wire right before the plug but after it was four? so if i wanted to bypass it i would just snip the red and black, run it to a toggle switch or something of the sort (hidden) and then just hit the button when i want it on/off? thanks and o yea, i was just looking for a quick fix and something to cure my boredom... Bansh-eman Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 if you folow the 4 wires down.. you remove the plug then splice the two wires together and that bypasses your key... then you use your start stop switch to kill it... or you can even get rid of that and use a dirtbike botton kill switch like i did... and then move the lights to a toggle switch under your frame and that really cleans up your bars... my bike is stripped right now or id snap a pict for you but imagine... sitting on the bike from left to right it would be.... Grip / Clutch Lever / Round killbotton bout size of dime / clamp / Brake rez / Throttle / Grip Quote
Flanagans twin Posted May 8, 2007 Author Report Posted May 8, 2007 yea bro, that sounds really sick and clean! i have this picture in my head, of having a little tiny red push button switch hidden in the frame somewhere for my key so all i would do is feel up under it, hit it, and ride.. for now i like my new ignition... and in the future i will have to go with a cleaner look like yours man. thats sick! got any more ideas i can do to clean it up/make it look better? tomorrow is my day off.... haha, any quick ideas that you have done to just make it look better, removing stock parts, relocating things? thanks man. rhuebner Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 This is where I put my key. What do ya think? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 if you have the tors removed... you might think abpout cutting your harness and getting rid of all the extra bullshit... i removed my harness got rid of everything extra... hardwired my new killswitch, relocated my lights to under my seat removed the key and relocated all my cdi and regulator to behind the radiator and infront of the tank. no worries about wires hitting pipes and melting now...
