i know the bikes come stock with 14t, but whats the advantage of going with less or more teeth?

when you go with less teeth on the front sprocket only you'll gain more grunt or pull on the bottom end and lose top end speed. plus, you may have to shift more often in open areas because the engine will wind out faster.

FYI: the opposite holds true when you only change the size of the rear sprocket. the smaller the sprocket (less teeth) equals more top end, and the larger the sprocket (more teeth) the less top end.

when changing your gearing you have to take a few things into concideration like the terrain you mainly ride, rider weight, rear tire size and type, and engine power.
