ok i was looking at fast.com and saw this...

Override Transmission (non-duneable):

$345.00

Full 6 Speed Override (non-duneable):

$525.00

Duneable Override (starting at):

$380.00

what does the duneable do? i was considering selling my cylinders and buying a cheetah down the road and was just looking for fun. what does he actually do with a duneable overide? and will the none duneable 6 speed transmission overide work with a cheetah? im lost here. what does the overide do? what does a DUNEABLE override do?

a override you have to come to a stop to down shift or you will lunch your tranny.. a dunable you ride it like a normal banshee downshift and all but you have the wot no clutch shifts...

non dunable overrides including the 1-6 require you to be extremely cautious. If you try to downshift and your not at a complete stop, you can pretty much say goodbye to your transmission. And if you let off the throttle and not pull in the clutch can cause trouble.

Dunable overrides are spring loaded which keeps the transmission from backloading. You can use a dunable like a regular transmission without the need of worrying about pulling the clutch when the throttle is let off. Use it like a normal tranny and have the ability to shift like an override. Except im not 100% sure about downshifting.

Hope that helped answer your questions.

so i can shift and downshift without the clutch or with the clutch. but its almost impossible to do so without the throttle let off to shift without the clutch?

also... wtf is with the full 6 speed non duneable overide? who in therye right mind would but that?

non duables are what drag racers run... they dont need to down shift. they launch and go thorugh the gears... get to the end of the track and kill it and put it in nuetral..

a dunable over ride you can use the clutch like normal or you can shift full throttle without using the clutch... up or down either way your safe.

a cub comes already bigger then a dune port... if your looking for dune porting you got the wrong motor... a cub was designed for drag racing...

the 72 your talking about is a supercub. its a 472 assuming its a 4mil crank but i think they are 7 and 10s

its all persoal preferance. id go with the cub.. out of the box they produce more power then trex, but trex are by no means trash... they just need mroe work to get the same number out of them...

the cubs come out of the box with drag port timing...so the only thing you can do is open them up a little more there is no duneable options or anything less then drag...

think of porting in stages...from 1-10 1 meaning that the ports are smaller and more restrictive...

stock 1

play port 2

woods3

mx3

dune 4

agressive dune 5

dune drag 6

drag 7

full drag 8

make sence?

when i say more restrictive im talking in drag terms... a mx port is setup to have more bottom and mid where drag cuts your bottom out completly and focuses on the hard hitting top...

so the cub wou;d be an 8? SOOO... would the bottom end be almost non-existent? :/ thats not good cause i ride fireroad-like trails and sometimes normal trails, hit the jumps sometimes and i LOVE some kick ass hillclimbs =) (mostly wide open stuff though) .. i was gonna go with ported cases and ported cylinders on a agressive drag port on a 4 mil stroker(possibly done by jeff.. but i dought it with his huge back up)... but im not sure if its gonna have as much power as i want it to have. also the engine has shearers. BRAND NEW ^^

have you bought the cubs yet? if not id go off your stock jugs... with everything you said... you got a drag bike. your not going to have an bottom end ... and your powerband is going to be a light switch... either on or off no between.

your stock jugs with a nice port job can still rip your arms off.. you dont need cubs to get that kind of power.. basicaly cubs where made for guys that want to resleeve their motors to big bore and drop a drag port on them the cost was so high alot of people wanted a differant option... so the cub was made and it already comes big bore and comes with drag porting( needs a little cleanup porting)

you are not to downshift without a clutch on any tranny on a shee, duneables are upshifting with out a clutch on the gas. but can still clutch it slow riding and trails. its the cats ass imo

cubs have tripples, lot of exh area ,so pretty much a drag setup. plenty of post about it.

i think one was called are cubs trail friendly. answer not really, sure stuff can be done to make them but they really dont come on till 6500rpms. why have a high hp motor and cut its nuts down to make it more trail friendly.

take your stocker get them ported for woods/dune, some pipes for it and not huge carbs for trails. imo
