Jhughes7 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Well I bought my wife a 97 kawa mojave 250 a week ago, She decided it didnt have enough power, So I bit the bullet and went got her an 07 Honda TRX400ex today. The thing is pretty fun to ride I was surprised it did pretty good with knobbies in the sand. Was a nice change of pace from the violent powerband. Now to start modding it!!!! Quote
bansheeyfz Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 sweet. save your cash and mod the shee. I personally like the kfx 400 better Quote
Jhughes7 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 I went down to kawasaki to look at the 450kfx for her, But for 8 grand, and an asshole of a salemen, I am happy with what I got. Quote
theshee Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Sounds good... They are bulletproof bikes! Quote
kotin6 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 just out of curiosity why not a yfz450? Quote
nomad Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) It's good to get the wife involved, so you can get more toys without a hassel. My wife got a Grizzly 700 last year, and has several firearms  However, I got a $3,500 coffee maker :ermm: Edited April 19, 2007 by nomad Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 My brother has a 400ex and loves it. It is a nice bike but the seat is uncomfortable. I do recommend getting rid of that foam air filter though. Quote
scooter Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 the 400ex is a good bike im not a honda fan but they run good. great to have a bike for the wife cant beat that .i like the kawi 400 too the 450 is a little pricey and id rather have a yfz if i wanted a 450.congrats on a nice bike and enjoy riding with your wife, good times Quote
Jhughes7 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 just out of curiosity why not a yfz450? Well the honda was 1,400 cheaper than the yfz and while the yfz might be a quicker bike since its "Technically" for the wife that didnt matter much. Not to mention my yamaha card is a bit max'd out. The 400EX's are great bikes. If I was buying a bike for a less experienced riding woman, that's probably what I would get. It's pretty hard to hurt those things, plus they are a kick in the pants to ride. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 The one good thing about the 400EX is you don't have to start it for your wife. All she has to do is turn the key and push a button. A female friend of mine use to own and ride her 400EX all the time. So it is great for women. Quote
Jhughes7 Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 Yeh its a big plus, And I like how they have reverse now. We took the mojave out 1 time for about 2 hours, i had to kick it over for her like 5 times... Quote
FredMW Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I bought my wife one in 2001. I did a few mods (bolt ons) , it has been bullit proof. They are a great bike for all around riding. Quote
