flipcarre Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Well, i haven't been on the HQ a lot lately, been trying to balance school and a job. An hour ago me and a couple friends went out to just ride. When i was comming back to my house, which is down a dirt road. I see a cop waiting at the stop sign. (4 way intersection) so i turn left and go off to my house, i keep it low because i dont want the cop to come stop me. So here i am in 2nd gear puttin at 20 kmph and he stops me...... After 15 minutes of him talking i wind up with a $700 ticket, failure to have my license on me (one time i dont bring my wallet) and some other bullshit about me riding my OFF-ROAD vehicle in town limits.... So now im pissed off, Do any of you guys know anything about the law? A couple towns around me have bylaws that allow them to use their quads on the roads, but not here... Anyone know how i can go about getting this bylaw passed? thanks, Eric. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I was stopped once here in Michigan and it ended up being a misdemeanor ticket and a court date. I have vowed not to stop for cops again. I know it is a stupid thing to do but that's me. That sucks! a 700 dollar ticket. That is a ridiculous price. I would take it to court and try to get the fine lowered or claim that you were on private property when he stopped you. Good luck. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I run.Simply because my friend was riding his raptor 660 with a flat tire to my house with no helmet.He sees a cop.Stops and tells him he has a flat nd is just going to my house to get it plugged up and filled up.My friend eneded up getting his shit impounded and getting his bike seized so he cant get it back.I have lost all respect for my local cops so I run and really dont give a F***.I know I sound dumb and stuff but you gotta know my local cops so you can feel the same way.Good luck with your ticket tho Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Out here with cars... You can transfer your court apperance to a diff county. Most of the times the cop won't travel elsewhere for simple ticked. Cop doesn't show, case dismissed. :shrug: Quote
