Flanagans twin Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 hey guys just got off the hotline with my builder who just got done with my shee today and he said compression is sitting at 150 each side, with 18cc domes, sound right? he is at Lake Minnetonka/spring park MN, im not aware of the sea level there.... but that sound like its in the right ball park Quote
mpbanshee Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 On a fresh stock motor, I believe 18cc domes would give alot more compression that 150. However, I assume when he ported the cylinders, he raised the exhaust ports, which would reduce the compression. May want to double check with the builder. Quote
Flanagans twin Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 alright sounds good. he might have. would he have done that for my pipes?(fmf fattys with PC2)... he ported it according to my pipes. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I would double check that on your own.WIth 150 PSI you can run straight pump gas.Check and make sure so sont waste your money on race gas Quote
Flanagans twin Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 alright i will do that as soon as i have the chance. thanks guys. Quote
raptorooster Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 That does soung low to me, I'm in minnesota, My last setup ran 18cc domes and sst pipes and a slightly raised exhaust port and my compression was at about 165 last time I checked it, unless your port was raised that radically in witch case im thinking that you will find yourself unhappy with the performance, all power up top and hard to keep in the pipes unless you ride wide open gravel roads or dunes! My new setup in my sig runs 20cc domes and my compression is 185. Just my 2 cents. Quote
Flanagans twin Posted April 20, 2007 Author Report Posted April 20, 2007 yea i will have to check the compression out again when i get my fresh 110 in and with my sea level area, idk how high he raised the port, but actualley it bangs out nicely right in the powerband and before it, it hits them fmfs nicely and could it be because its not completly broke in, new rings and new ports? thanks guys Quote
