superang Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 i have a 2005 banshee it has pipes, its jetted, cdi, sprockets and chain, im getting it port and polished and im getting it bored out... now i want to know what the best size bore is and how can i get the most power without busting the seams of my wallet, or my bike!? any help would be great, there isnt many places that i can find info near where i live, so anything u guy can tell me would be greatly appreciated! thanx! You need to let us know where you live and we can give reccomendations. Im going .040 over with a mx port in a couple months. I figured might as well go all out. Getting the head shaved .020 over too. That way I can still run 94oct pump gas. Quote
NYUK Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 you only bore to the next needed size to clean it up, bore will have little to no affect on hp. porting is where you get the muscle.too many bores over means shorter cylinder life. only take out whats needed. Quote

suzuki0702 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 yes please dont bore out unless you need to. when your compression gets under 105psi on a stock head ...then its time to bore! you can typically expect on each needed bore to go .20 over...but if the rings didnt pit the cylinder walls too bad (which is very uncommon) you can go .10 over..
