WuddupDoc Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I was installing my t5's other day and I was on jetting part I had already installed my k and n filter. Then I noticed huge dent in t5 so I had to send it back. I put the bike down to normal jetting and left kn on. Now the bike runs horrible it dont idle it just kills everytime the bike slows down. The bike only lets you use 1/4 of the throttle after that its wide open. The bike prob tops out around 60 now. Quote
!TWISTER! Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 There's 2 solutions, put back the stock filter, with the stock jetting. OR Find the mistake, you said you changed the jetting for the stock's one, with a KN filter, righ? that's bad. By what you said you're bike seem like to run lean, at 3/4 - WOT,right? maybe cheking you're main jet clip. Have you heard about the choke trick? Quote

bansheeyfz Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 run it with the choke if it runs better your to lean? am i correct? Quote
!TWISTER! Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 (edited) You can help me a bit more, buddy. Does it revs higher? Have you noticed over-heating? Have you noticed hesitation? With the throttle where is the problem? 1/2? WOT? 1/8? 3/4? Looks like it will be alot easier for you to put back the stock filter and wait for your pipe to come back If you think I don't understood what you said, tell me. EDIT: choke shit for wot with no power warm up pop the choke out to the first notch; if at WOT gets worse you're rich and drop a size on the mains; if it gets better with the choke out you're lean and should start going up on the mains until WOT, then drop a size Keep in mind that's only one trick for the choke, theres other shit for knowing other shit, or try to Edited April 5, 2007 by !TWISTER! mpbanshee Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I don't think taking a bike that runs perfectly and simply switching to a K&N filter would cause major problems like that (moror dying, not wanting to idle). My guess is you put the slides in backwards or something. The K&N may make it a bit lean, but should not cause havoc like that. Quote
