J-arm to YFZ450 a-arm

my 2 J-arms are dead, i've brought YFZ-450 a-arms

i'll make the swap soon, but i wanna know if this swap will work

with the stock banshee shock at least for few weeks

of course its not ideal with stock shocks but its useable, albeit best on a flat track/TT course, or plowing driveways. :biggrin:

definately need longer shocks!

 

should be relatively easy to do if you are handy with a MIG and measuring.

i wasnt sure the shock would fit because it would be too short...

i know that is not the best but i'll buy better shock within few weeks..

 

MIG,TIG,ARC isnt a problem for me

and i have all the equipment in my garage

im very interested in doing this same conversion...i dont see the point of converting to banshee a arms when yfz arms are mush better... correct me if im wrong

Definitely, if you are going to be upgrading a J-arm frame, since your creating the mounts, go for a 450 setup. You'll want to get some measurements from another bike so you can locate the bottom mounts appropriately, but beyond that it's no harder than converting to banshee a-arms. Might as well go for the better package from the start,

I'll second that, you NEED longer shocks than the stock Banshee shocks. I put 'em on for grins since I gotta wait on new ones and there was like 1" of travel. Not wueno. At least for much beyond the driveway or front yard (OMG a curb, turn! turn!! :ohmy: )

 

On a side note ya might PM Meat, he used to have a frame kit for converting j to a...
