hello there i had a question for some people who know alot about drag racing, if you look in my sig, those are my mods on my banshee, this saturday im hauling it out to have it get a port and polish done by a banshee pro, if anyone in MN knows about PAUL down at Lake minnetonka motorsports, you know what im talking about, anyways enough of that, after port and polish it will have a cool head, and be running 18cc domes with 110 octane fuel with 32:1 yamalube oil. he has a 2001 craptor, with a slip on silencer, he is toying with me n talkin shit n wont tell me what he is going to do yet, but im getting the hint that he is going to be doing a turbo kit which would be taking his raptor to 72 hp with a stock motor, i am wondering if he is just going to blow me completly away or if it will be close? or what other kind of mods he could possibly be doing under 400 dollars, he said around 320 is what he is paying... any help would be appreciated guys, i weigh alot more than him too, but i just want to know where we would stand against each other in HP range with out riders. i wouldn't worry about that turbo crap. i seriously doubt the dude is gettin a turbo. that is an incredible mod and is very rare. definitely not for 400 bucks either. if your porting is even "o.k.", you should eat him up. especially on asphalt, but if you are both on dirt or sand it might take a few gears to start pulling on him. (too much wheel spin)

well i can tell you for sure hes not getting a turbo for under 320 dollars , turbos about 4500 and a lot to set it up for 320 he is prolly getting a cam insalled or some other bolt on

you will beat a 660 with cam mod and slip on .

cams are about $160 for those thing and head work is about $250ish and those together along with the exhaust will mak a rappy a handfull maybe even unbeatable to a mildly ported shee.

It could be close if he does a turbo kit, and all you got is a ported 350. Most fully modified port 350's on gas dont do much over 70hp. If he is a good rider, and has a better setup for traction and all, he could take you. Thats fully assuming his mod gets him to the 70hp range.

shoot i wouldnt worry about it because even if he gets it,, its not a bolt on and go type of thang ...its gonna take him alot of hrs of messin with it to get it right and goin,, another thing turbos unless set up right ..will want to race longer then 300ft that would help them., .. other then that man your lookin for lost treasure for reasurance... there are way to many factors do determin a race on the computer,, set up .. hook up..tires.. blah blah blah bnlaaaaaaahahahhahahahahaha just race!!

haha thanks guys, appreciate the input, i am going to get my best port work i can, i am headed out in less than 10 hours here to bring it to get ported n what not, ill smoke him, i got updated on what he is getting n i was told a diff pistion n cam...

For around $320, if he did it himself, he could get a cam and hi-comp piston which would give him a whopping 9hp. With your mods, fresh tires, gearing and strong clutch, you should be fine. Race his ass. It's only a race. Your main concern is to leave first. Good luck.

haha ok thanks guys, and i will, were up here in the PL area kinda... just waiting for my bike to get done getting jetted, waiting for that golden weather so we can get it up nicely! haha i should be able to smoke him, i put fresh rings in it and reed spacers, prolly 171 compression ish, on that 110.. aka liquid gold.

I rode a Craptor this weekend with a full exhuast/jet kit and I was almost bored. I was really suprised at how slow it felt compared to mine and Im not ported. They stand up way to easy even when they are totaly stock, the power range was the exact same the whole way through. I jumped on my Banshee and I knew I would crush him in a drag and Im runing pig ritch. I still cant see how a piped and jetted 450 will come close to me in a drag. Im going to run a few 300-500ft straight line on dirt and street next time I go up I will be sure to tell you guys how it goes. I can tell you this for a fact I dont have a single problem passing them up in the trails and I dont even have my A-Arms or suspension on yet.

ya i know what ya mean i rode his also with full jets n exhaust n the only half way interesting gear was 1st, cuz it pulled up when it wanted to, its very very boring in the rest of the gears tho.
