I have 06 banshee just got wiseco pro lite pistons stock bore wondering how much can be shaved off my stock head.

I think the most is like .60 but the more compression then the more stress on your crank pistons and rings.

Do you have pipes?

And when you get high enough on the compression then you will have to run high octane fuel. ID say go maybe .30 over.

You should be able to take .030" off, and still run pump gas. Anything more than that, and you may need to have the domes reworked. Use a new gasket, and do a compression check when you are done just to be safe.

Thats a 10-4. .030 will still allow good squish clearance. Any more and you should have rechambering done which should be done anyway to correct the squish velocity issues with the factory setup. A simple mill is cheaper but will not offer the best performance.

i wouldnt do the factory head.. plus when you go to machining it and then if you decide to buy another stock head both will end up around the hundreds when in fact u can get a used cool head which serves 2 purposesfor around 150.. and u can change the domes out..

just my .02$ .. now im broke

Shaving the head will raise your compression, giving you more low and midrange power. You should be able to go to most any machine shop and have them mill .030" off the sealing surface of the head. Shouldn't cost much more than 35 bucks or so... Be sure to use a new gasket, and check clearance once the head is back on.
