i just got my dune port back from rb racing, i just rode around for a min on it, i noticed that it is bogging really bad in the midrange like it almost wants to die out, im running the stock needle on the stock clip right now, could i use the stock needle and put it on another clip and which one, or do i need some aftermarket needs and what clip should i put them

main jet 370

700-1000ft asl

temps 60s+

stock pilot

Most likely you need to move the clip down, but no one can say for sure exactly where you'll end up. Thats part of jetting. Trial and error...Try the 4th clip from the top, if it gets a lot better, then try the 5th clip.....when you get aftermarket reeds, you may have to raise it back up one clip depending on how much fuel your shee wants....find the sweet spot. You'll feel the difference...

How does that bike start and run off idle?

In addition to the above suggestions, might have to bump the pilot, as well.

If you're gonna be riding dunes and wide open trails, removing the airbox to compliment the dune port might not be a bad idea...either.

the bike started really well last night with the 25, i could get the throttle up to about 1/8th when it would start bogging, then i would release the throttle and it would clear right back up, it would not pull itself around on level surfaces either around 1/8th throttle either, do u guys think i need to lean it up a clip and try that?

i had the k&n pod filters until last night, im not lucky enough to have some dunes around here, and some of the trails i ride will be covered with water and mud here in the spring months, i may throw the pods back on it in the summer

Sounds like the pilots are where they need to be...the needle circuit controls from 1/4-3/4 throttle. So I'd start there....I highly doubt you need to lower the needle...Raise the needle by lowering the clip to the 4th slot from the top and go from there.....BTW, is the little black box above your left exhaust disconnected??? (3-wire plug) If not, then disconnect that and try it.

alright guys, i i raised the needle by lowering the needle to the 4th clip from the top, ive played with the air screws but its sputtering, as soon as the needle takes over its sputtering really bad, before the needle was cutting out due to bogging and now its sputtering, also sometimes it dies out on idle, do u think i need to change out pilots also? i just need some help before i tear back into the carbs again

Look for cracks/leaks around the boost bottle...they're known to stress the rubber. Start it up, spray some carb cleaner around there. If it dies out...you've got an air leak.

Try this, warm the bike up. Put real slow in first gear at a very, very small amount of gas. Pull the choke half way out. If it makes it better...you need to fatten the pilot.

Do the same thing in the mid-range. Find some nice level ground (to hold the throttle steady) hold it half way open...pull the choke half way out. If it gets better, richen the needle....

Richening the needles made it sputter then drop them back to the 3rd clip...You could try the next size richer pilots and go from there...where do the air screws like to be at?? If the air screws like to be .5 turn out or less, then try a richer pilot, if the air screws like to be 1-2 turns out, then don't bother.....
