Hollister_Hitman Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 If anyone is planning on buying some hipers you might want to wait a few months. The new all carbon fiber ones will be out in late April and will be available for the banshee. I have read that they will be 1lb lighter than the originals and cheaper. Quote
kaotik1 Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Wow those are awesome looking! Losing the hub and adding in the that spacer was a great idea. I wonder how thick the carbon fiber is right there. Either way thats cool.. Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted March 1, 2007 Author Report Posted March 1, 2007 Whats the price going to be? I don't know just cheaper. Probaly just $10 cheaper :: just a guess Quote
FireHead Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 I have been waiting for them to start delling the new wheels before I buy a set. Quote
Canadarider Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Looks like I'm going to hold off and get the news ones . I hope alot cheaper . Quote
Trick2stroke Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Those look sick, I always wondered why they didn't use that design to begin with. Hopefully they will be a great deal cheaper. I'm sure if they made them cheap enough to be closer in price to the aluminum beadlocks they would probably make up their profits in volume, more people would be willing to go the little extra for the lighter stronger wheel. I plan on getting a set when they come out. Quote
trueraiderfan Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 hmmm U can bet your ass i will havce a pair when they come out. i just have my stcok wheels painted black. just been waiting on a set of beadlocks but looks like thiose are what im gunna go with Quote

I plan on getting a set when they come out. I will venture a guess that the reason that they didn't do that in the beginning is that composite injection molding equipment was not capable of reliably forming that shape at the time when they came out. They held off a design change because there really wasn't anything wrong with their product as it stood and they needed to pay off their tooling and equipment. There is a new generation of composite injection molding equipment that has comeo out within the past year or so, that must be capable of completely forming the bell of a wheel (I don't believe the older generation of equipment could produce anough pressure to do a complete bell). Quote
Trick2stroke Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 Ah okay. Well, I can't wait for them to come out! I'm stuck with my stock wheels and 20" holeshots right now. Sold off my other sets including my ITP locks to pay for my susp. Quote
