WuddupDoc Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 Heres the my situation. When I was 11 I got a banshee. A friend of a friend took my bike and shaved it and did something else to it and I dont know what. Then he told me to put t5s on my bike and it ran. I loved that bike and took care of it. Then katrina came it took out everything I own includiing the banshee. So after the storm I thought id give the raptor 700 a try. 2k into the bike later im giving up and buying the orginal badass the banshee. When I had my fare birst shee i was alright with the speed but now im older I want more speed but im a trail rider. I came to this site to research and what i found was insane the peoples bikes on here are beyonnd nice. Now: Im thinking of 421 cub, but im a trailrider. Ive seen both sides on this site people saying its good on trails some say its not meant for the trails whats your 2 cents? If you think it isnt for the trail whats a good setup for trails but if somone challanges my shee in a drag i want to win.(i love speed) What does it take to get a cub if i decide to get i saw the webpage i got to call trinity? And what happens from there do they just send me the parts and i install them (im low educated on what to do about cubs) Also when i was a kid i loved the t5s they were loud fast everything i liked but i read if i get cubs i should prob get cpi, but on this site i saw some guy say he had t5s on cubs and it ran great. Do you think its plausable? Thanks, WuddupDoc Quote
blueshee03 Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 (edited) if it were me and i did mostly trail riding i'd go with the 65mm bore {358cc}or 68 mm {392cc} bore on a stock stroke crank with some 34 or 35 mm carbs. also the t5's in my oppinion would be just fine for trails and such on cubs.forget about trinity though.pm passionre on here and he can help you pretty much decide on the setup that would suit your needs. i love the sound of the t5's also and in my oppinion the are as good as cpi's. WuddupDoc Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Thanks for the input so far i want speed thats why i aimed for the 421, but ill take in what you said Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 421 cub is not a trial bike... you can have a very nice bike for trials off your stock jugs... port your stockers and add a 4mil crank ... get some t-5 pipes vforce 3 reeds... and maybe some 28-30 PWK carbs...mill your head you will have a vry nice trial bike... dont forget your suspension.. you can have all the motor in the world if you dont have a good suspension to hold it to the ground it dosent matter Quote

dajogejr Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 DO not get a cub for trails, please.... You wouldn't take a top fuel dragster to the grocery store...would you? +2 +1 a arms, aftermarket suspension (Elka, fox floats, works, etc.) and a good porting on your OEM cylinders is all you'd need for a great ride. WuddupDoc Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 I was thinking of getting Port/Polish and Shave my heads, t5's, shocks, a arm, vforce reeds. Do you think removing the rev limiter is worth the money? And is there any other mods i can do to make bike faster?(i need speed, even for a trailer) Quote

Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 there is no rev limiter on a banshee... all of the mods you listed are good.. also look at a dyna cdi... i swear by mine! things amazing.... id stick with works shocks... they are just as good as elka fox axis and all the others and cost much less... also might try looking at quicksand for some a arms they got some good deals on thier gear... im getting a swinger from him once i sell mine... MY main goal is speed even on the trails that and jumping but i know shocks will do for that. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 they make swingers and a arms... quality stuff and not too bad prices... either way you go cub (which i dont recomend foryour riding) or a nie port job on stockers and a 4mil... your going to need a longer swinger to hold it down... WuddupDoc Posted February 26, 2007 Author Report Posted February 26, 2007 Im new to EXTREME modding bikes is it true with long A arm u lose power? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 26, 2007 Report Posted February 26, 2007 no... wider a arms give you better control of your bike... it give you more of a base to ride on making it harder to roll and what not.. thats why most arms are +2 +1 meaning +2 inches wider and plus 1 inch forward making your wheel base wider and longer...
