no, i think you just leave them apart.

I think he's right red and black should go 2gether @ key switch..... black and white should be open @ the kill switch.... I have one doing the same thing.... i'm suspecting a cdi also

The wires for the ket switch need to be connected... not sure what the colors are though. It could be the CDI but there is no way to test them other than changing them out. If you know someone who has another Banshee you could borrow one from to try it before you go out and buy one, that's about the only way to test them. Oh and there are different plugs on them depending on what year your Banshee is. I belive it's 97 and after have a different plug than before 97. I could be wrong on the year though.

if the flywheel magnet is crack or when u shake it u can hear little pieces of the magnet movin around. Is that bad. Will the ignition coil still spark at all?

Yes, get a new flywheel. My cub motor had a bad flywheel...it started, but when it got to about 5K or so...it burbled and died out.

Your magnets could be busted up so bad inside it won't even spark....

If you know something is bad like that, replace it!!

any one got any other ideas?

Update on mine...... It ended up being the pickup coil on the stator.... it took sum creative testing but it saved me $120 or so cuz a new CDI would have cost me $190. I got the pick up new by itself for $68. Good Luck

another thing about the flywheel is that even no that the magnet was crack it still sparked i was checkin the spark i kicked it over and lots of spark then i kicked it again anf no spark.

I have a spare CDI off my old 96 motor that I know works, I bought a Dyna so it sits in my tool box.

I know the harness ends aren't the same, but...if you pay for shipping and promise to reconnect the wires after splicing them, you can use it to test if no one else can help you out....

PM me if you'd like me to ship it to you, prolly cost 5 to 8 bucks via Fed Ex.....

Carl, just came to my house and found out what was wrong with my cub. It was the flywheel. I have not been ably to get this thing going for 4 or 5 weeks now. I was having the same problem as you. Spark every now and agin. I think that you should get a flywheel to test on your Banshee. Hope this will help you.

Niether of us thought that a flywheel could be a problem, but I remeber reading on here if it rattles then it is bad. I could hear it rattle, but moneybags couldn't. It is really a faint rattle. So we swaped it out to my running bike and it didn't run, so we put mine on his and his ran. I thought that a flywheel was just a chuck of metal with magnets glued on it, but I guess there is more too them. Swap it out and see if that is it, it took us about 30min to do that.
