BrockMoto Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I can't figure out what is wrong so I can't fix!!! when I ride... only SOME OF THE TIME there is a noise coming from where what seems to be behind the clutch cover (hard to tell riding and doesn't when Idling) but it sounds like something is rattling around in there...and sometimes like the sound when you stick something in a box fan and it makes that buzzing noise...lol just like that any ideas??? like to know what to fix!! Thanks alot Colin Quote
snowfoxsx Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i had that sound and it was my kicker idler gear that was loose and hitting the basket and case, it took out my basket, gears in there, waterpump gear, and filled the case with filings so my trans may be screwed also, we will see when i rip it apart! good luck, may not be this, but check it out! gregbowler Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I would also check the water pump impeller and bearing. The stock impellers are plastic and can break Quote
sheefreak Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 I have had the screw that holds the shiftstar on come out before and would still shift. It was the reason I bought a perfectly good running Banshee for $800. Guy thought he "blew" it because the screw took out the oil seal and started blowing a ton of smoke. But regardless of what it is you will know once you take that cover off. I would not ride it anymore untill you do. Quote
BrockMoto Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 alright.... thanks alot guys Quote
FireHead Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 The jam nut from my clutch adjuust worked its way to the end of the adjuster and started machining my clutch cover once. It sounded sort of like that. Quote
