Ls_dx Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Just picked up my banshee. much funner to ride than my raced out blaster. i took off the seat to drain all the gas, and when i did, i noticed that the tors wires have been cut, but the tors is still there. big bulky unit still sitting on my carb tops. is this ok? also, what is the purpose of a case saver ? thanks ! bentvalve Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 sounds like a way to delete the tors with out removing all of the stuff.lol as far as the case saver i guess banshees are know for chains breaking, so the piece fits in front of the front sproket so that when or if the chain breaks it does not go crazy and break the case. don Quote
Handyman Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 The TORS will be pk as it sits now it will still run fine.... all that's been done is the previous owner bypassed the TORS system without buying the TORS eliminator kit.. Quote

A casesaver on a Banshee bolts to the shift drum cover and goes around the sprocket so that if you break a chain, it won't bunch or whip up and break your cases. It's a very common thing to happen on Banshees. To make up a number, I would say that 75% of the cases for sale on eBay are broken around the chain area. Sometimes the break is cosmetic and sometimes it makes the cases unusable. Quote

JET 99 Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 i have the nylon tm designworks. i liked how it uses the case itself to help support the saver. i think some only use the screws to hold it in place.. something to think about?????????????? i have never had to use it. but good insurance. i like my case not busted and plan on keeping it that way!!!!!!! Quote

I think all of the ones that I have purchased came from Cascade. Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 (edited) Same here, I bought the whole TM Designworks slide-n-glide kit for the chain and added the case save too. Cheap insurance...better than a broken case. I put some pics on here back in sep. when I put them on. Do a search on Renthal chainwheels, should still be there I think. -TORS is a POS and is better off in a box in the basement. Edit: I did the search myself and the pics don't load up anymore  I can post some if anyone requests them... Edited February 18, 2007 by AssWhore Quote
