BRIAN BANSHEE Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Hey!! fellow HQ'ers It's been a while since I posted havent done a lot of ridin this winter, for one i gotta get some new rears, and th shee is bein a bit of a dick when it comes to idleing. when i start it up it idles fine a bit high but that can be fixed and when it warms up to operating temp it drops right off to the point where it stalls even though the knobs on the T.O.R.S are adjusted as high as they can go, :verymad: the bike pulls like a train up high, but when i slow down it just dies i've got to rev it to keep it goin, right now my pilot it stock, my mains are 220's and the needle is set on second from top (i think), and the screw is almost 3 turns out, on stock carbs of course. Does anyone think i have to change my pilot jet or does anyone have any other suggestions. Any info is GREATLY appreciated!!! HOLLA BACK!!!! P.S HQ'ERS ROCK!!!!!!!!! Quote
moneybags Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) We need more info. What is your elevation and riden temp? What mods do you have on your Banshee? If the ones on your sig. I would say you need bigger main jet and probley bigger pilots. A 220 main jet is super small for any Banshee with pipes. Edited February 15, 2007 by moneybags Quote
BRIAN BANSHEE Posted February 16, 2007 Author Report Posted February 16, 2007 sorry about that!!! right now the mains are 220s and it runs great up top, the pilots are stock, ridin temps usually between 17 - 22 celcius, and altitude is from o to 500ft Quote
gregbowler Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I would start about a 320 main and 27.5 pilots middle clip on the needle Quote
fox_forma Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 dont you also lean out the A/F when you turn the screw out? Isnt 3 turns out kinda much? Quote
gregbowler Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 dont you also lean out the A/F when you turn the screw out? Isnt 3 turns out kinda much? The pilot and screw only effect idle to 1/8 throttle. Out on the screw is more air in is less air,(at idle-1/8) Try 1-1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated all the way in. Quote
Banchetta Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 You have other problems....Pull the carbs and clean them really well, make sure you didn't switch the slides from one carb to another. Cutaway should face the airbox...PC pipes usually like 270 mains, 27.5 pilots, needle 3rd clip, no air box lid or modify it...also make sure the choke tube between the carbs is in place. 220 mains are too small, it might run good, but it'll run even better w/ larger jets.
