I have a 03 banshee that's never been rebuilt. My compression was 110 and the bike runs well so i was wondering if it would be best to just rebuild it to avoid problems down the road.

Without knowing your elevation its hard to say for sure but even if you were pretty high 110 sounds a bit low.. I persoanly think its a good idea for you to do a top end now if you have the time and cash... I have never been a big fan of wait until it blows before you re-build.. Were both cyl 110?

Yeah 110 in each cylinder isent gonna kill you but its not the strongest running bike you could have. You could get away with riding it for a little bit I cant really say how long but a new top end would be a good idea. If you dont have the money for new pistons get the ones you have reringed and get your cyls honed. If your cylinder walls are a little scratched up and a hone will do ther is no reason to bore it to the next size. Are you ported yet? What setup are you running?

Time to check if it can be honed and rerung or if it needs a bore.

Mine had 110 on it by the end of 05, and it was getting tired. still ran good...but, took about 6 or 8 kicks to fire...and it just didn't have the zing it used to...

You're not critical, but...good idea to freshen up!

No i haven't ported yet or even got into the motor. I put DG pipes, stage3 jets, power reeds, boost bottle, and KN filter on the bike.

What kind of riding do you do? Are you looking for any added preformance. About your compression read above and theres your answer. But if you have some $$$ saved up you could do alot with your motor. The HQ will help you figure out what setup is best for you if you have any questions.
