with my tax return, im thinking about kicking the banshee up to a stroker (already need to rebuild the top end) my question is do i need to get new domes (currently running pro design cool head with 18cc domes) for my cool head to run the crank and the 796 pistons?

If you run your stock cylinders with a +4 stroker, +5 longrod crank, you will need the 795 series pistons, because of the longer rods, and you will need to get a set of cut domes, for the +4 crank. If you just run a +4 crank, you will still need a set of domes cut.

You will need a few things...depending on which way you go.

You will at least need 795 series pistons for the long rod.

You can run a spacer plate OR get domes cut for the longer stroke.

Not many fans of spacer plates, just one more place to leak.

That being said...if you get domes cut for the longer stroke, you need to get the motor's porting/timings changed to work well with the stroker motor....

Call Jeff @ FAST, he'll give you straight answers and good pricing as well.

Plenty others on here will as well.

Even if you run stock length rods, you will still have to get your domes cut, but you can run the stock style pistons. You will be better off, with the +5 longer rods, because it helps with the reliability. Your parts will last longer with the longer rods. If you're going to put the stroker crank in, just go ahead and get the +5 longer rods while you're at it. It may cost you a little more now, but it should save you $, in the long run. PM Fastoys on here, and he can tell you everything that you need to know.
