When you find one, kick it over and see that is starts in 3-4 kicks, get a compression tester if you can get your hands on one, check out the suspention/ ball joints, just look over the basic things on it. Look for bent shit, make sure it shifts through all 6 gears... Just look it over and make sure it has not been abused too bad.

thats sortov my problem...I live in a small town with nothing happening (plenty of land and places to ride) But if i want a banshee I'll end up having it shipped to me i know of 3 banshees around this area (and trust me they are not up for sale anytime soon) and my friend that got his has been looking for a couple of years and finally got a blown up one to rebuild ( he also has a frame hubs radiator gas tanks and a few other extra things from where he gave up and started building (good shape think i should try and talk him out of them and if so what price? i think its 2001)

I build`t my recent one for about $2400-2500. frame to finish 85% stock. the only parts I got screwed on where all from the same seller on ebay (minkia38) ,.. carbs, coil, and a rear hub. So it wont cost you much more. You can spend between 2-3000 and get a good bike.

screw shipping, there are so many Banshees all over this country, all you have to do is look for them. (might need to dig a little but they ARE out there!)

"have money, will travel!"

put your location in your profile so if people see this and they are local with one for sale, they might offer it up.

it will be late this year or early next year before i get the money. i'll start work in march when i turn 16 unless i find something sooner. (no im not some kid just wishing and dreaming im really working towards it and im about to sell some stuff) I'll cut grass in the summer also.

but do should i keep building one an option? like my friend was until he found a whole one? and should i offer for his frame ive seen it it's in great shape

they are simple to build and you have the guidance of the hq and many other sources if you need help. plus youll have something to work on over time,. you wont have to save up so much for part by part, and you said you wanted to build you dream bike, which to me would be my own custom creation built for myself. Plus youll have more respect for it and take good care of when its all done. I bought my first one when I was 15 mowing grass just the same,. but I beat the shit out of it and it ended up getting stolen.

Yeah, $2-3000 should get you a pretty nice machine........................

And welcome to the addiction, or money pit, depending on if you are a half full or half empty glass kinda person..... :yelrotflmao:

OUCH! ok im going to start looking for extra work I'd possibly make the trip 2 1/2 hours "i think" but only if i had planty of pics to make sure its good....... TIME FOR A JOB lol and my friend is a mechanic and even though he is my age he has read so much about banshees that I'll probably learn from him a lot (he is probably on this sight ill ask him) SO building is worth it? but the frame is around 800 itself isnt it? and his frame has nothing on it but a set of hubs and tires

Hello 8 ball glad to see another missouri rider on the hq. It's hard to find a good banshee from around our area and it's even harder to find one thats under 3 grand I had to drive to carbondale IL to find mine because it was the only one left out of 6 I called about so if you find one thats in good condition for under 3 grand you better buy it good luck and when you buy one send a shout out on the hq and we will go riding at st joe!!!!
