ALTVATER Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 I already posted on of this a while back and got some good feedback about putting spacers on my pipe hangers but my left side pipe is still hitting the cylinder. my right side fits awesome but for some reason the left side is being a bitch. i know someone said something about using a rubber hammer to bend them but i wanted to get some feedback before i start beating on my $525 pipes. if anyone has any solutions to fix this or why it would be like this please WB. i don't want to have to send them back i should have my bike together tonight and i want to start it. SoCalinIt Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 I bent my tabs back and put a spacer between the hanger and the frame, and the hanger and the pipe. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 no need to bend the tab... just stack some washers or the nylon spacer behind the hanger and it will shim its way out from the head... you need to bend anything... Quote
cam2 Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 you may need to use a longer bolt after you get it shimmed, i did. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 yea your more then likely going to need a longer bolt... i put new bolts on the one for the frame and the one thats holding the pipe its self. Quote
wesw Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 but i wanted to get some feedback before i start beating on my $525 pipes first off if you paid 525, you got screwed. anyways. you can use washers. or do what i did. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/wesw/pipe2.jpg Quote
ALTVATER Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 ok here is what i have done and it still is hitting. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n37/alt...ATVparts001.jpg http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n37/alt...ATVparts002.jpg http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n37/alt...ATVparts003.jpg Quote
wesw Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n37/alt...ATVparts001.jpg try moving the pipe mount to the outside of the tab. and put the spacer towards the bottom like mine. should be close. then youcould slightly bend it. Quote

I don't know about that i might be able to cut it out. i will check and see if i move them if they hit. thanks Quote
