Throttle cable

I took my broken cable to my local shop today to get a new one. The guy tried to find it by looking up the numbers on the side of the cable. He was unable to help me, Can you? I need a part number for a throttle cable for my thumb throttle with Dual 35PWK carbs. The motion pro park number or a Bike that uses the same cable.

 

You probley know what I am asking for.

You can get one from jeff at FAST for 30 bucks his website is www.farmandsandtoys.com just get his number off of there and he will hook you up

i want to say for a thumb throttle the stock cable works on pwk's but im not sure.. but either way you got the mp number so theres no need to find out

well since you live in california I have no clue guess you could mabye get one from the stealership but i dunno if they cary or get anything like that. :shrug:

I thought that I could use the the stocker aswell but could not. The end that go's to the carb is just like the part that go's in the lever. and the T.O.R.S end was different. Could probley use the one for a T.O.R.S elem kit thow.

The throttle cable is the exact same one as used with the TORS elimination kit.

I ordered a new cable to go with my PWK35s from Jeff, and when it arrived it was the same one I already had for my stockers with TORS removed....

I think the correct part number for the cable is 01-0813 as I was looking on the Motion Pro website. Here is the information from their site:

 

01-0813 $28.90 Cables Cable, black vinyl, throttle - special application Fits stock thumb throttle to Keihin PWK 28 & Mikuni TM 28 carbs. Use with stock carbs requires 2 carb caps (01-0023) and 2 adjusters (01-0013). Use with stock carb eliminates TORS and stock carb caps. Requires idle kit (08-0045) when used with stock carbs (sold seperately). Warning - Disables the T.O.R.S. system and will not shut down engine in case throttle sticks open. A stuck throttle could result in uncontrolled acceleration and great bodily injury or death. This product is intended for closed course racing by expert riders only. Improper installation could result in great bodily injury or death. User assumes all responsibility for proper installation and use of this product.

 

Has anybody had problems with the thumb throttle not opening the PWK's or PJ's per the comment from the Motion Pro website below:

terry cable is a very nice one, steel braided. $$$ compared to others but its very nice.

I tried to get one locally ,with no luck. I ended up getting one fom Vito's and the price was only $21.95
