blaster668 Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 No he means Bel-Ray Gearsaver. It's available at most motorcycle shops. I prefer to use atf fluid, but it needs changed often. I feel the clutch lasts longer and it shifts better. Regular motor oil is what Yamaha reccomends and it works ok. The 10w40 should be fine. Quote

csrmel Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 i use atf in mine. you may be thinking why do such a thing, well an automatic transmission has a multiplate clutch plates and discs arranges in a pack just like a banshee. its also got gears and bearings and things just like a banshee. basically a 2 stroke gearbox and an automatic transmission are very similar except for the torque converter and the shifting valves and maybe a few other things. motor oil also has things that are not really needed in a gearbox. gearboxes dont have to deal with carbon and acid contamination produced by blowby combustion products. in a nutshell, any oil you use will work good. banshees dont carre what you use as long as its not cooking oil Quote
