Bansheeman1121
Whats some running symtoms of a failing stator?
BenBB
1. Intermittent spark (especially at idle...not really definitive tho could also be plugs, loose connector, bad ground, bad fuel, dirty air filter, etc. etc. etc.) 2. NO spark (again could be CDI, connector, wiring, etc., testing it with an ohmmeter when it decides not to work usually tells you if it is or isn't the stator, although that too can sometimes yield false readings) 3. No spark after kicking it over 5,000 times, screaming obscenities, and if yer reallllly lucky pushing it home
Snopczynski
Usually they go bad and never come back. If they do run sometimes or have weak spark its common to see a solder joint issue on the stator.
kubiac3
You can test your stator with an ohm meter, but it doesnt always mean its good. I had an awesome electrical problem and replaced, wiring, flywheel, coil, and last but not least the stator that tested good. 2 kicks and it started right up.
