BIGDOGDADDY Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Hello, I am getting ready to do a full Port and Polish on my 2003 Shee. I already have the following mods. Toomey T-5's,Reeds,Boost Bottle,Cool Head. I am trying to decide to go with the full race port or just a mild port. I do alot of dune riding and racing. I am also going to do a clean up bore and install wiesco pistons, lighten the flywheel and advance the timing. Will I need to purchase a racing clutch with all these mods? Is there anything else I should do to avoid headach down the road? Thanks for any advice you can give me. Quote

SoCalinIt Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 If you are like me, you're going to want to have the bike running fast at the hill. You will loose a little low and mid, but make up big time on top. It's a different type of ride, but it's easy to get use to. As for the clutch, get one from F.A.S.T. Jeff. He has a great price on them. Have fun with it man! Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Yeah, I second that contact Jeff at FAST and he'll hook you up with all the toys, and give you direction on your mods. I agree I would do the port job, but it would be the dune port not the play port. Plus any beefing up goodies to keep the bike running and not breaking parts all the time would help........... Quote
BIGDOGDADDY Posted January 10, 2007 Author Report Posted January 10, 2007 Thanks for the suggestions!! I have decided to go with the full drag port. Do you guys think at this point I should have the Crank welded? If I do I might as well do it while the other work is going on, no need to pay labor twice. Anyway thanks again guy's. Quote
okbeast Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Yes it would be a very good idea to get the crank trued and welded. It's just one of those precautionary things that should be done. Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 If you have it tore down, it is always a good idea. I have heard of cranks on stock bikes having problems, but that is rare. If you plan on doing any type of mods and have the bottom end tore down it is a cheap fix for peace of mind.............. Quote
