IROOST1 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Bills pipes and silencers(repacked) Stock Carbs with tor removal kit Cylinders bored, honed and chamfered by Eric Gorr(.020 over) Wiseco Prolite Pistons Pro flow aluminum airbox adapter with K/N filter, Airbox Lid Removed Aluminum Boost bottle I had it running good and then i took my 280 mains out and put in 290's cause the plugs were a little light. Why would it run good then just changing the mains, it will barely start, or run. Now 290 mains 30 pilots 1 out airscrew 3rd clip, stock needle Its about 40 degrees out but i will be running it when its about 20. Quote
black sunshine Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 choke tube connected (the hose that connects the carbs)? Quote
IROOST1 Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 yep, the tube is connected, thats the first thing i checked when it wouldnt run right. then today, i put new airscrews and springs in and played with the settings. I couldnt even get it to start. Im gonna try some fresh gas and if that doesnt work, im gonna go back to my original settings. The plugs are brand new even. I have no idea why the hell this thing is so finicky. Quote
IROOST1 Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 Is a 30 pilot too big? I have new 25's that i can put in. Quote
Ting Ting Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Your pilot is a little fat I would try the 25 and see how it goes or you might have a air leak some where around the intake boots. make sure your carbs are in sync right. Quote
IROOST1 Posted January 8, 2007 Author Report Posted January 8, 2007 The intakes are all new with heavy duty clamps and all new hoses. I dont think there is a leak. I will try the 25 pilots and hope for the best, any other suggestions.................. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 25 pilots should be spot on... make sure you didn't swap float bowls. Make sure the slides are in the right carbs (cutout facing towards the back) Quote

Make sure the slides are in the right carbs (cutout facing towards the back) I already double checked the slides and a change the carb peices one at a time so i dont mix up parts. The pilots hopefully will fix it. Quote
