i clipped all my extra wires and plugs off my harness and cleaned up my bars by removing the stock light switch and kill switch...

the only toggle switches i have been able to find at parts stores here are either freakin huge or are open to elements... im trying to find a basic 2 stage toggle on and off thats got some sort of protecter from dirt and water... and something thats not huge casuei want to mount it unnder my tank on the frame...

any one used anything similar or know where i can find one by this weekend?

Since you only want two stage (on and off, right...not low, high and off) I'd get a rubber push button or something...

Sealed, push on....push off.

I'd bet Lowes, Home Depot...Pep Boys, etc., would have sumthin...

i went to pep boys , kragens, and a few race shops, the push bottons they got are freakin huge.. and the rest of their shit looks like the NOS swicthes in fast and furious.

im just going for on and off... i got the trail techs and they dont have high and low beams so im just wanting to move the switch off my bars to clean them up some

edit: i didnt think about it but my buddy just said try radio shack... i dont kno if they would have ones with rubber to prtect them or not but i guess if not i can get one for this weekend and th en worry about finding a permanant one later on

One thing you might consider is putting a smaller less durable switch in your throttle housing and running a couple of wires down along your throttle cable to keep them out of view. The housing can be made water tight easy enough. Just make sure the switch is rated for the current the headlights draw, or use a relay for the main switching, and the small switch to trip the relay.

i dont think that all nessissary , the clymers says it s simple none polarity circut, i think you can put a normal 2 stage switch to simply break the circut stopping the lights...

even so, the current will flow through the switch, so the switch needs to be rated higher than the current flowing through it. the smaller switches also have a lower current rating. so if you find a switch you want and it isn't rated for the current, you can use a relay and your switch to turn the lights on/off.

I sent you a pic of my switch set up, if you like it i bought mine at an automotive shop and i bought the little rubber cover off of ebay, they are 3 bucks or something. Oh and did u try those lights out yet???

yea i finally got everything running tonight casue we are going riding tomorrow so i had to get it all put back together today

Radio Shack has small toggle swithces with water proof covers that screw on. They also have some cool lighted switches too.!

they didnt have anything that was protected so i just ot a normal 2 wire toggle switch...

i moved my switch under my tank out of site... and i took off the old stock box and replaced my kill switch witha cr250 kill switch... clipped all my old tors and rewired it all and made it nice looking... to my amazment everything worked first try :) im the worst electrican too, but i spent the extra time and did everything right and soldierd everything and used plugs instead of just getting getto and twisting wires and using tape :)
